Carnival to Festival

As a transition piece, and because I ran out of time to work on much tonight, I'm delivering a series of unedited consecutive photos of Jay attacking a funnel cake at the Charles Village Festival a couple of weeks ago. Accompanied by narrative:

"Are you as ready for this as I am?" Jay asks. "As long as I have my PBR!"

"Hmmm... so fried and powdery and appetizing...""Well, here goes!" "Ah, the doughy crunch...""Oh no! Powder everywhere! Why must you curse me so, funnel cake!""Mmmm...delicious and worth it all."And... HULA HOOP!

It's not crazy! At a lot of Baltimore events, hula hoops are present and passersby are invited to take advantage. I'm guessing this is a way of contributing to a festive atmosphere.

One such hula hoop at the Charles Village Fest was gigantic and, since I've only hula-ed the conventional-sized hoop, I had to partake...I HAD to. Also, Pabst Blue Ribbon and funnel cake made me do it. In fact, the funnel cake became a voice in my head... a voice about hula hoops. To this day it remains, a sinister voice echoing through my cavernous skull, declaring its bizarre funnel cake obsession for hula hoops. The voice is my friend. It understands me. It tells me to do things...hula hoop things and beer things. I love the voice and it loves me.
