I loved the colors of the baskets and tried to get as many as I could in each shot. I'm not sure why I didn't think to go around and take some from the other side, as well. I guess I was too caught up in this angle. And there was more to be taken. Tomorrow, Tilt-a-Whirl, strange bears, and some other carnival fun!

I like pics #2 & #4 with maybe # 4 a slight edge. The colors a good, the focus is good but they outshine the others by their perspective and angle. Also they have an entrance and exit whereas some of the others have more than one exit point. Nice work on your part and can't wait to see more. LMF
I like the first picture. It captures the immensity of the wheeled beast more so than the other shots. Also, the perspective suggests a lack of stability, as if the huge wheel were barely hanging on to its axle at an odd tilt, soon to come off and wreak havoc on the carnival patrons. Or perhaps I'm projecting.
I vote picture #1!! BIG! SCARY! FERRIS WHEELEY!
Thanks for the input! I think I'm starting to lean toward #1 and #4 as well. I see how #1 has a strong sense of the big and scary. I don't think I saw that at first because it wasn't that big in reality and so the thought hadn't struck me while taking the photo. Also, I like heights more than fear them, so I don't associate fear with Ferris wheels.
#4 I just like the composition and it shows the colors off well.
In all of them, there is a neat light thing going on because the sun is reflecting off the tops of the canopies and shining on the bottoms of the baskets above. I think it works on an unconscious level to make it feel a little off. Or maybe I just want to think that.
my favs are the middle three... but I just cant decide which. I'm leaning maaaybe. 2. no 4! wait. arg!
Well, I definitely like the light and comp in 4 better then in 5.
